TEACH-IN ON A.L.E.C., MON APRIL 9 @ 7PM: WSSU COLTRANE HALL!

On Monday April 9, @ 7PM, Coltrane Hall 211, Occupy Winston and Occupy WSSU/HBCU will co-host a Teach-In and Public Forum on A.L.E.C. (American Legislative Exchange Council): the Corporate-Government alliance at the core of much of the regressive legislation that we have seen occurring all across the country (“Stand Your Ground” Law relevant to Trayvon Martin shooting, Voter ID laws, anti-immigrant laws, anti-public school teacher laws, anti-EPA laws, pro-private prison and pro-insurance industry laws, and the list goes on and on!) NC has become of the legislative and strategic epi-centers for ALEC… and also those who wish to expose the direct power that coporations have in the government. The main presenter will be Ron Rabatski, author of several of the most revealing investigative articles on ALEC.
